You received a
birthday invitation from
Yoshi. You determined to give Yoshi a most memorable birthday in his
life.
For
a start, there is a problem: You don't have a present for him yet.
He would
definitely appreciate a present of popsicle sticks from you.
But the local
store is closed for the weekend, and giving Yoshi an I.O.U. (I owe you)
is
pretty lame.
Better scour around
and find what you needs!
Be warned! The town is pretty weird
(just like this game).
The graveyard down the street is really scary!
And there
have been rumours about animals growing large and ferocious in the
sewers...
Depending on what you did during the game, there are more than one
possible
endings...
Yoshi Birthday II is based upon the original game "Yoshi Birthday" in
DOS version by Chris Kulgler (KCCK Designs).
Current GUI version
of Yoshi
Birthday II retained most elements of the original game with some
extras being
added: Title screen, music, some sound effects, and additional
adventure
puzzles.
It
is the humorous and slightly weird
kind of gameplay that prompt me to convert the game into the GUI format
and
improved upon it.
The conversion was worth
my time as it improved my current
GUI text adventure engine further to another level.

Strange title isn’t it? When I run out of ideas while developing Land
of no
return, I start playing through some weird adventure games.
This is a game designed after playing through the spectrum version of
"Anamagon".
The
original game was written in the Quill. Based on the
description from the solutions provider, it is said to contain numerous
logical
errors and it is probably written by children for children.
This
turned me on
and proceed to go through the whole solutions and subsequently do a
conversion
with improvements in content and make it more logical.
Well,
this may not be a
most enjoyable game on the planet but it does spark me some ideas in
improving
the GUI text adventure engine at that time.
The game has many shadows/elements of the original game.
And I tried to put it
in such a way that it is from the point of view of a young school-going
children.
So imagine that you are young children (if you
are an adult) while playing this
game.
If there is any suggestion in improving this
game along this thread,

The
original version of “colossal

that Crowther's marriage ended. Feeling estranged from his two
daughters and
wanting to be closer to them, he decided to write a program that they
might
enjoy: a simulation of his cave explorations that also contained
elements of
his fantasy roleplaying. Crowther's daughters enjoyed the game, and it
was
passed from friend to friend during the early days of the Internet
world.

Please note that the GUI colossal cave that you are about to download from this site is a modification version adapted for beginners like myself, thus it is not a faithful reproduction of the originals although many elements of the game are still retained.
